From 40 shortlisted startups to eight semi-finalists to three finalists. We now have a PITCH winner.

The best startup at SURGE.

This afternoon, Locus.shArcatron Mobility and SME Corner went up against each other for that title, with the winner taking home $100,000 worth of free credits from Google, to be used across all Google Cloud Platform products.

Our runners up will receive $20,000 in credits, and all three finalists will get access to technical resources for Google Cloud and SMEs for digital marketing.

We now have a winner.

Following the the three pitches, our judges including Flipkart’s Sachin Bansal, 500 Startups’ Dave McClure, FuturePerfect Ventures’ Jalak Jobanputra and Google’s Sunil Rao have chosen  Arcatron Mobility.

They build devices that help enhance the lives of people with limited mobility and elderly care needs. Their products help their users lead more independent and active lifestyles.

Dewaj Baruah, COO of Arctron Mobility, said he could not believe when they were announced as the winnners. “It was really awesome,” he said. He added that this was the culmination of eight years’ hard work. “We have been working, trying things, making things, breaking things and getting feedback. We really want to make a difference,” he said.

He added: “This will create new opportunities for us. We want to solve big problems and here we are fulfilling our dreams.”
