Startups at SURGE? Here are my Thursday picks

December 3, 2015 by Hugh

Ever been to Bengaluru? Now is your chance.

I spent a bit of time this morning checking out some of the startups coming to SURGE in February. What intrigued me most was the variety of ideas on show – from big data companies, to those aiming to change the travel industry, these are ideas that have a lot of backbone, big potential and the possibility to run and run.

Let’s take a look at some of them.

A beautiful website and a wealth of in-depth knowledge about 100s of travel destinations around the world, TravelLibro is a one-stop shop for every type of travel you could ever imagine.

India’s first online platform for SME loans, SMEcorner boasts founders who have worked with Indian and multinational financial institutions and know the market. The entire seven steps of their process are online, removing any hassle of forms and queuing.

Some of my other picks include: Storyboard, a location-based notification network; Crawded, a crowd-sourced education network and TapTap Meals, an online food delivery app for office goers.
