SURGE was a whirlwind of inspiring talks, determined startups and a whole lot of hustle. Now that we’ve had a moment to catch our breath, here’s a few of our favourite highlights.

Snapdeal kicking off on Centre Stage

Our Centre Stage kicked off with Snapdeal’s Rohit Bansal. Rohit took to the stage to chat virtual marketplaces and what’s next for Snapdeal.

The PITCH winner and runners up


Arcatron Mobility took the Google prize valued at $100,000 as the PITCH winner. Runners up were Locus.sh and SME Corner who both took home SME Corner $20,000 worth of credit for Google Cloud Platform products.

Kunal Kapoor takes the floor


Ketto co-founder and Bollywood star Kunal Kapoor was interviewed by Quartz’s Itika Sharma Punit. Kunal discussed life as an entrepreneur and actor. He inspired the audience with his words, saying “if you are passionate about your idea, effort comes naturally”.

The launch of India’s smart electric scooter

If you happened to stumble across the #SURGEConf feed on Twitter on day one of the conference you’ll have no doubt seen the photos from Ather Energy’s launch. They unveiled the S340, India’s first smart electric scooter, at the conference.

Sameer Dholakiaa and the key to scaling for success


On the first day of the event, SendGrid CEO Sameer Dholakia shared his key lessons from his email marketing company’s growth trajectory and tips businesses can follow when scaling.

Women In Tech

This year we’ve made a Commitment to Change by offering free tickets to female entrepreneurs. We were delighted that so many fantastic woman entrepreneurs came to the conference. While we know there’s much more to do to really make a change in the industry, we’re thrilled that there was at least a little more of a diverse crowd hustling at the conference.
